Water Intake & Quality

Water is a critical resource for humans and livestock alike. Cattle are known to drink 1 to 2 gallons of water per 100 pounds of body weight per day depending on temperature, stage of production, and age. This means that a 1,200-pound cow can drink over 24 gallons of water per day. Maintaining a clean and large water source not only improves overall cattle health, but performance.
